Joy and fun, definitely. And like you, I get mine through travel and visiting people.
Next week I’m off to visit three old friends, two in Tucson and one in Mesa. End of the month, driving to a favorite spot in Mexico. April to central Texas for the eclipse.
Deonne- I know this post was from a few months past, but I do think it's still so apt and relevant throughout our lives. Moments of quiet is hard to come by, and when they do ... It's altogether more meaningful. Hope you're well this week. Cheers, -Thalia
Thalia, thanks so much for your comment. Your timing is good, because I'd been thinking lately if I even wanted to continue writing these posts - is anyone reading? are my words helpful? - and you've reminded me just how important/comforting/inspiring online community can be.
This year has not at all gone how I thought I would - surprise! ha - but I'm back on my feet and ready for fall and getting back to being an active creative in the world. So maybe I should get back to this Substack, as well, and keep the conversation going with you all. :)
Time to leave the naggy voice behind...
a conversation we've been having here as well, since fun suddenly became elusive– and not for lack of wanting, but perhaps seeking and prioritizing.
Seeking and prioritizing, yes! It's almost like, when did we become such Adults, capital A intended? Cheers to more fun in 2024, Heidi.

And more in May and June!
Wonderful, Emilie! I will follow your lead this year and get back out there. And the eclipse should be amazing. :)
